Wantage Summer Festival
We are offering many 30-40 minute demonstrations throughout the festival.
Each day will be a new pattern or design. Come and watch, and you can then paint your own version.
Calling all, whether Experts, Professionals, Gifted Amateurs, dabblers or novices...
Whether you an artist who use oils, water colours, acrylics, pastels, pencils or crayons,
painting on ceramic base may be a whole new experience for you to try.
Our colour gaze can be used just like most of the above mediums, yet has its artistic challenges, as it dries quickly, easily mixed, layered, washed, rubbed out and then the colours you see may not be what they end up like as they colours change during the firing so for the experienced artist there is something for you to learn.
At the other end of the scale of experience, even if you have never picked up a brush before, we will show you that with a sponge and stick, fantastic results can be achieved in a 30-60 minute painting session.
All items are then overglaze with clear coating and fired at 1000 degrees for 24 hours to create 100% permanent colour, that you will be proud to display, or if appropriate, is also food safe that you will use & treasure...forever!
Simple and effective,complex and challenging?
You really don't have to be artistic to create great results and experienced artists can learn a new medium.
Just watch, or paint one yourself.
If you would just like to watch the demonstration, thats fine. If you wanted to paint your own it might be best to book, not always required.

We are happy to take commissions, and usually only a small extra charge.
Not only can replicate any pattern you like, we can personalise any item to your requirements. Painted to order, 7-10 days will be needed for your order to be ready.
Demonstrations every Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday at...
10am, 12pm and 2 pm each day. Lasting 30-40 minutes depending on audience numbers and the design.
If you want to be sure of a space to watch, please consider booking in advance via phone. Booking is not necessary for these free demonstrations, however space will be on first come basis. If you wanted to go on afterwards to paint your own, then booking ahead would definitely be best. We won't abandon you either, one of our team are always happy to guide you, so don't worry if you do not feel "artistic"
We are also happy to arrange an evening session for art groups, clubs or society's. Pre booking is essential, and whilst no minimum number of people is required, a minimum spend for the whole group of £100, will be applied. (That's only 8 people painting a mug!)
