When we took over The Funky Teapot in 2014, we decided that we need to spread the word about us, as new owners. Rather than via advertising, we decided that by finding a good cause and help them,  in return they will help spread the word for us.

So began our ethos of helping people raise funds, rather than giving a simple donation.

As a person who is often asked for items to raffle, vouchers etc, we as the giver may get a quick mention in return and a thank you letter, (sometimes) and that's fine for some businesses, but as a small family run business, every penny counts. 

We believe that a better way was to offer something that can be repeated many times over, where both parties gain. 

Let me relate our story about how we got involved with Team Mikayla. We wanted our customers to choose who we should help first, and overwhelmed with the support TM got for nominating them, we wanted to know more. We decided to supply lots of mugs, teapots and bouncy balls and suggested setting up a game where everyone wins. This game is still used today and has raised many £100's.  In return, they were proactive in mentioning us, sharing facebook posts. So rather than a single donation, we gained a lot of new followers, and TM have a game that keeps earning.
